ABSTRACT: Kodamaea (Pichia) ohmeri is a rare and emerging yeast-like fungus that belongs to the ascomycete group and Saccharomycetaceae family. It is an important pathogen in immunocompromised patients, they were reported as fungemia, funguria, endocarditis, peritonitis and wound infections causing necrotising fasciitis. We describe a case where Kodamaea ohmeri isolated from peritoneal infection in an elderly patient that came with retroperitoneal collection as a complication of ruptured right upper ureteric stent. The organism was confirmed by using matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight (MALDI-TOF). Patient was treated with Amphotericin B and switched to anidulafungin. She was discharged well.
