ABSTRACT: Since the 1980s, the research on Hebei dialects has made great achievements, and the study on Hebei dialects tone has been gradually deepened. Before 1990, the study on tones of Hebei dialects mostly focused on citation tones, and was mostly limited to the synchronic description of citation tones of specific dialect spots. After the 1990s, the study turned from citation tones to the analysis of the diachronic evolution of tones. At the same time, increasing attention has been paid to the ancient tone forms contained in the tone sandhi and the synchronic and diachronic relationship between citation tone and tone sandhi.
