ABSTRACT: This thesis analyzes the self-denial spirit of Xun Lu and Yoshimi Takeuchi, and analyzes the fundamental element that makes this spirit become the root of their thought. It also briefly analyzes Yoshimi Takeuchi’s journey of self-denial based on the contents of the first and second parts of the book “Overcoming modernity”.
