ABSTRACT: The development of multimedia technology is an important feature of today’s times. This paper studies the value orientation of calligraphy education in colleges and universities in the multimedia era. It first discusses the multimedia age and calligraphy education in multimedia era, points out the differencesfromtraditional calligraphy education, and demonstrates the important role of multimedia in calligraphy education in colleges and universities. Secondly, this paper analyzes the situation of calligraphy education in colleges and universities in the multimedia era and points out the difficulties in cultivating the value orientation of calligraphy education in colleges and universities in the multimedia era from the aspects of cultivation and expression. Finally, this paper puts forward suggestions to improve the cultivation ability of value orientation of calligraphy education in the multimedia era from three aspects: multi-path cultivation method, flexible cultivation strategy and diversified expression channels.
