ABSTRACT: Platform enterprises in China and the United States respectively innovate currency form in two ways: electronic money and digital money. Electronic money which links with fiat money acts as the functions of circulation and payment. As an asset with the function of wealth storage, digital money gradually enhances its value measure, circulation and payment functions. Platform enterprises take currency form innovation as the starting point to build capital “reservoir”, provide original accumulation for financial innovation, and form platform-financial complex through investment and acquisition nesting. The purpose is to consolidate monopoly position and grab monopoly profits. Although it is hard to shake the status of fiat money in the short term, it has caused an impact on the governance system of legal currency because it has changed the way of financial activities. The state should timely absorb private currency innovation technology to enhance the competitiveness of the central bank’s digital renminbi. Moreover, it is necessary to strengthen the regulation of financial activities of platform enterprises, limit the excessive expansion of platform enterprises in the financial field, and prevent the economic risks brought by platform-financial complex.
