ABSTRACT: The present study examines the effectiveness of the PEACE program in patients with Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD). According to the literature, LVAD patients experience anxiety and depression. The research involved 14 participants aged 22 to 66 years and was collected from a hospital in Attica. Eight by telephone meetings were held during which they engaged in positive psychology exercises on gratitude, kindness, and character strengths. The results of the intervention showed that participants experienced a reduction in stress, depression and negative emotions and an increase in life satisfaction and positive emotions. There were no statistically significant changes in stress. Follow-up measures are important to dole out to test the long-term benefits of the intervention.
