ABSTRACT: With the urbanization and economic development, the urban population is increasing. In this way, a growing population leads to an increasing demand for travel. The city has been improving its public transportation system to reduce the pressure of urban traffic. Taking Hangzhou metro as an example, this paper analyzes the current planning status of Hangzhou metro, the existing problems, and the corresponding suggestions. It also proposes that intelligent transportation is one of the ways to achieve sustainable urban development, which requires the use of information technology to plan and improve urban transportation.
