ABSTRACT: Zora Neal Hurston’ s masterpiece Their Eyes Were Watching God shows the awakening of female consciousness in black women as well as the deep ecological care. Through the in-depth analysis of the three marriages and the growth trajectory of the heroine Jenny in Their Eyes Were Watching God, this paper aims to reveal the ecofeminism thought of liberating women and nature, pursuing gender equality and harmony conveyed by Heston in the novel. It also points out that only by fully recognizing the relationship between female consciousness and ecological consciousness can we achieve the equality and harmony between people and nature.
