ABSTRACT: Language is a unique ability of human beings, and one of the standards of language is to express information clearly, but there are ambiguities in language. Ambiguity can be found on many occasions. It is not useless; on the contrary, it is interesting that it can play a positive role in helping people achieve certain value-added speech and communication purposes. So sometimes people try to eliminate ambiguities, but sometimes, language users also deliberately create ambiguities. But at the same time, ambiguous sentences not only have an impact on communication, but also bring inconvenience to computer language recognition, machine translation, human-computer dialogue and language information processing. From the language level, the reasons for the formation of ambiguity are mainly divided into 5 aspects, namely, phonetics, vocabulary, grammar, semantics and pragmatics. This article analyzes the reasons for the generation of ambiguous sentences and the classification of ambiguous sentences, and mainly discusses the syntactic generation of ambiguous sentences. I hope that the in-depth discussion of ambiguity in this article will deepen the understanding of ambiguity.
