ABSTRACT: English writing is an important means to measure the English learning level of learners. Among the five basic language skills of “listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation”, “writing” is the most important language output in language learning, which can reflect the learners’ comprehensive application ability of language. However, learners often make mistakes in their English compositions, which can largely reflect their level of writing. Based on the theory of error analysis, this study conducts error analysis through eight composition samples of the research subjects, finds out the characteristics of error distribution, explores the causes of error, finds methods and strategies to improve the writing of English learners, and further promotes the teaching of English writing.
