  ABSTRACT: Entrepreneurship training is often cited as a key factor in analyses of job creation. However, its role in explaining the profit generated by the jobs created has been rarely discussed in the literature. The objective of this article is to verify whether the profit gaps observed between young male and female entrepreneurs in Congo are explained by entrepreneurial training. Based on data from a survey related to the Employability Skills Development Project (ESDP) conducted in Congo in 2015 by the World Bank (WB) and the use of Oaxaca (1973) & Blinder (1973) decomposition, the results indicate, on the one hand, that there is a profit gap. On the other hand, entrepreneurship training explains 7.1% of this gap. These results imply the need, on the one hand, for entrepreneurship training and, on the other hand, for the promotion of an entrepreneurial culture.
