ABSTRACT: This paper attempts to explore the similarities and differences between Chinese and English tenses from the past tense of Chinese and English. Here, the author of this paper chose to use “Le” and “Guo” in Chinese and three temporal situations in English, that is, the Past Simple tense, the Past Progressive tense, and the Past Perfect tense for comparative analysis.
