ABSTRACT: The COVID-19 pandemic has unleashed a public health crisis globally and has compelled many people to work from home. Telework thus enables them to carry out their work remotely and to keep the company running smoothly. This study aims to provide insights for organizations in terms of telecommuting on effective communication, using combined desk research with synthesized data from various sources. The research identifies the benefits and drawbacks of telework in the first place. The author then discusses whether telecommuting will persist in the future. In the end, managers and employees are encouraged to enhance communication from several perspectives since telework will probably be realized in the near future. At the same time, companies and organizations should take quick actions as a response to the changing pattern of work.
