ABSTRACT: With the rise of COVID-19 cases in many parts of the world, questions around how terrorists could incubate and hibernate their activities within the current global pandemic are becoming more pertinent. The underlying assumption that terrorists lack urgency to permeate the deadliness of COVID-19, cannot only have serious security and policy consequences, but also disengages the very affected communities from taking a leading position in the fight against terrorism. This paper argues that it is the critical investigation and interrogation of the nexus between terrorism and COVID-19 that prevents the creation of a dangerous gap in security processes, therefore rendering the community role in the fight against terrorism even more effective.
