ABSTRACT: This paper mainly studies the new wave movement of film in Hong Kong from
the late 1970s to the early 1980s. Through the analysis of its background, the transformation
of aesthetic style and the inspiration and significance of the new wave film to
the later Hong Kong film, we can feel the unique charm and style of the new wave
film.
