ABSTRACT: Advancements in technology such as proteomics, genomics have led to the concept of personalized medicine wherein the integration of biomarkers into clinic directs cancer therapeutics. Traditional staging has a stochastic element which can only predict the outcome without actual consideration of intrapatient heterogeneity. In this review, we will look at the biomarkers that prove to be valuable tools for the personalization of cancer therapeutics among lung and breast cancer patients.
