ABSTRACT: Based on the community theory, this paper puts forward the overall structure of provincial lifelong education community from four aspects: hierarchy structure, function structure, operation structure and content structure, and explains the overall structure of the three supporting systems of the lifelong education entity community, learning platform and resource community, and learning achievement certification and transformation community. Based on the exploration of China’s “Yangtze River Delta” region, a “trinity” of open universities, shared platforms, and credit banks is proposed to build a lifelong education community from a practical level. Research suggests that to build an open, flexible, collaborative, and integrated provincial lifelong education community, it is also necessary to establish a policy guarantee mechanism, a collaborative linkage mechanism, a fusion and penetration mechanism, and a supervision and evaluation mechanism, etc.
