ABSTRACT: In our standards-driven classrooms, teachers are searching for science resources to help them develop positive learning environments and meet district, state, and national standards. Guidelines are provided for creating a project-based learning unit. An inquiry into frogs is used as an example to develop a unit that can be implemented in a third-grade classroom. These guidelines provide a valuable resource for teachers in developing safe, engaging, project-based unit plans.
