ABSTRACT: This paper selects 15 rural tourism concepts for comparative study, and finds that the concept of rural tourism evolves with the development of the times. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of the new era, the concept of rural tourism in the new era is put forward. Finally, the connotation of rural tourism in the era is analyzed. It is believed that rural tourism in the new era has connotations of peasant-led, source-protecting quality of planning and developing, rural cultural self-confidence, coordination and sharing, etc.
