ABSTRACT: Differences in climatic conditions have a significant impact on the bearing capacity and performance of asphalt pavements. The climatic conditions in Tibet are complex. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a climate division of asphalt pavement in Tibet. In this paper, the meteorological data of 28 meteorological stations in Tibet from 1991 to 2000 were used to analyze the main climatic factors affecting the performance of highway asphalt pavement by cluster analysis. The results are as follows: 1) The main climatic factors affecting the performance of highway asphalt pavement in Tibet include: solar radiation, maximum temperature, minimum temperature and large temperature difference. 2) The climate zoning indicators are the average daily solar radiation daily maximum temperature, the average annual extreme maximum temperature, the annual extreme temperature, and the average annual maximum temperature for seven consecutive days. 3) Tibet can be divided into five climate zones of I-V. In summary, the geographical boundaries and indicator distribution ranges of each sub-district can provide reference for the construction of highway asphalt pavement in Tibet.
