ABSTRACT: Access Control List (ACL) packet filtering is a basic network security tech-nology and is widely used in various network environments. In order to improve students’ understanding and application ability of ACL technology, we improve teaching methods, carefully prepare teaching content and design the self-learning assignments according to the students’ learning ability. The case is based on a small and medium-sized company network and is highly practical. Each step in the assignment focuses on a single knowledge point, covering the basic content of related technologies. The design of this assignment reflects the teaching philosophy of the higher vocational education requirements, namely in the teaching process, besides paying attention to the understanding of basic knowledge, the students’ hands-on ability should be emphasized.
