ABSTRACT: This study describes military cooperation on disasters in the ASEAN region. It is necessary to examine the disaster response issues in ASEAN through the cases after the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. It also seeks to strengthen the response mechanism and to consider the contributions of military support and cooperation. In this study, ASEAN claims that military support for effective disaster response is the most rapid and efficient.
