ABSTRACT: The emergence of the first set of original children’s picture books of modern significance in China is not accidental or sudden. Instead, it has appeared after a long period of exploration. This paper traces the origin of Chinese original children’s picture books in the ordinate of history and sorts out the development history of Chinese original children’s picture books in its infancy, hoping to enlighten the development and research of children’s picture books at present.
