  ABSTRACT: In the recent work, a series of novel pyran and pyridine and thiophene derivatives were designed and synthesized starting from 2-benzylidenecyclopentanone. The reactivity of these derivatives towards different chemical reagent was studied. The antitumor evaluations of the newly synthesized products were measured and the results showed that some of the synthesized products showed high cytotoxicity.
