  ABSTRACT: The idea of large-scale engineering provides a new perspective and direction for the reform of higher engineering education. The article has analyzed the connotation of the idea of large-scale engineering education and the challenges of higher engineering education. On this basis, this paper pertinently puts forward some countermeasures to strengthen the higher engineering education reform: clearing the target of engineering education, strengthening engineering practice and humanistic quality education, innovating the personnel training mode, and enhancing the ability of teaching staff.
