ABSTRACT: This paper explores the major push-pull and self-selective factors of seasonal rural-urban migration during the lean period using survey data from northern Bangladesh. Among all other factors, probit estimates reveal that the choice of destination, per capita monthly food expenditure, availability of social safety net benefits are affecting individuals’ decision of being seasonal migrant to a significant extent.
