ABSTRACT: The crystallographic structure of La1/3NbO3 perovskite was studied at high pressures using a diamond-anvil cell and synchrotron radiation. High-pressure energy dispersive (EDS) x-ray diffraction and high-pressure angle dispersive (ADS) x-ray diffraction revealed an irreversible amorphization at ~10 GPa. A large change in the bulk modulus accompanied the high-pressure amorphization.
