ABSTRACT: Based on long time field study in Tibetan communities in central Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) and empirical knowledge, through analyzing the population change of donkeys of different communities, this article aims at finding the reasons of the changes caused by economic and social changes, especially changes in eco-environment, in order to provide a perspective to better understand changes in TAR.
