Traffic Safety, Crash Prevention, and Risk Management

Traffic Safety, Crash Prevention, and Risk Management addresses the systematic assessment, prevention, and mitigation of risks associated with road transportation and traffic operations. The topic includes crash causation and analysis, driver behavior, road-user safety, roadway and intersection design, vehicle safety systems, traffic control, hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency response, and safety-oriented transportation planning. It also considers emerging approaches such as intelligent transportation systems, connected vehicles, advanced driver assistance technologies, predictive safety analytics, and data-driven risk management, with the aim of reducing crash frequency and severity while improving the safety and resilience of transportation networks.
