Language Development and Acquisition

Language Development and Acquisition explores the processes through which individuals develop, acquire, and refine language abilities across different stages of life and learning contexts. The topic encompasses first and additional language acquisition, phonological and lexical development, grammatical growth, semantic and pragmatic development, bilingualism and multilingualism, language input and interaction, cognitive and social factors, and individual differences in language learning. It also considers developmental variation, language learning environments, educational practices, and emerging approaches to understanding how linguistic knowledge and communicative competence evolve. The special issue welcomes theoretical, empirical, and applied research examining language development and acquisition from linguistic, cognitive, psychological, educational, and sociocultural perspectives.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Language Development and Acquisition. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
