Civil Engineering and Urban Systems? is an interdisciplinary, application-driven research domain that integrates the core principles of traditional civil engineering with systematic urban science, focusing on the full lifecycle planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and adaptive governance of interconnected urban built environments and their supporting infrastructure networks . Rooted in addressing the multi-dimensional pressures of rapid global urbanization, climate change, population growth and aging infrastructure, this field transcends isolated single-structure engineering research to treat cities as coupled, dynamic socio-technical-ecological systems. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of Civil Engineering and Urban Systems.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore Civil Engineering and Urban Systems. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:
