Special Issue on Soft Matter and Polymers

Soft Matter and Polymers is a distinct interdisciplinary subfield of condensed matter physics and materials science, centered on the systematic investigation of a broad class of easily deformable, mesoscale-structured materials whose macroscopic behaviors are predominantly governed by weak intermolecular interactions, entropic effects, and thermal fluctuations rather than strong covalent, ionic or metallic bonds. This discipline focuses on revealing the inherent correlations between the nano/mesoscopic hierarchical structures of polymers and other soft systems, their dynamic evolution mechanisms, and their macroscopic functional properties, while establishing fundamental theoretical frameworks to guide the precise design, controllable fabrication, and performance optimization of such materials. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of Soft Matter and Polymers.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore Soft Matter and Polymers. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Polymer Physics and Macromolecular Science
  • Colloids, Complex Fluids and Interfacial Soft Systems
  • Liquid Crystals and Structured Soft Materials
  • Hydrogels, Gels and Biomimetic Soft Materials
  • Biological Soft Matter and Biophysics
  • Advanced Polymer Functional Materials and Engineering Applications
  • Granular Matter and Soft Condensed Matter Theory

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue – Soft Matter and Polymers should be selected during your submission.
