Special Issue on

Geohazards, Natural Disasters, and Risk Assessment

Geohazards, Natural Disasters, and Risk Assessment addresses the identification, monitoring, analysis, and management of geological and natural hazards and their impacts on people, infrastructure, ecosystems, and communities. Major topics include landslides, earthquakes, volcanic activity, tsunamis, floods, debris flows, rockfalls, land subsidence, sinkholes, coastal hazards, and climate-related hazards. Key areas include hazard mapping, vulnerability and exposure assessment, multi-hazard and cascading risk analysis, disaster prediction, early warning systems, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), numerical modeling, and probabilistic risk assessment. The field also considers disaster preparedness, mitigation, resilience, emergency response, and climate change adaptation to support effective risk reduction and sustainable development.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Geohazards, Natural Disasters, and Risk Assessment. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Geohazard assessment
  • Natural disaster management
  • Landslide hazards
  • Earthquake hazards
  • Volcanic hazards
  • Tsunami hazards
  • Flood hazards
  • Rockfall hazards
  • Debris flow hazards
  • Slope stability
  • Ground subsidence
  • Hazard mapping
  • Risk assessment
  • Vulnerability assessment
  • Early warning systems
  • Disaster resilience

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Geohazards, Natural Disasters, and Risk Assessment” should be selected during your submission.
