Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing (AI-AC) is an interdisciplinary research paradigm nested in computer science, dedicated to ?theoretical modeling, algorithmic innovation, and system implementation? of intelligent systems that simulate, extend, and augment human cognitive capabilities, underpinned by high-performance, low-latency, and energy-efficient computing architectures. It integrates the core logic of "intelligent algorithm design" and "advanced computing infrastructure empowerment", breaking through the computational bottlenecks of traditional rule-based systems to enable complex tasks including inductive decision-making, pattern recognition, autonomous perception, and cross-domain adaptive optimization, which serves as the foundational technical support for cutting-edge research in materials science, engineering physics, environmental statistics and other quantitative disciplines. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing.
