Special Issue on Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Surveillance and Prevention

Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Surveillance and Prevention is an interdisciplinary field focused on understanding the distribution, transmission and determinants of infectious diseases. It encompasses epidemiological surveillance, outbreak investigation, disease modeling, vaccination, infection control, antimicrobial resistance and public health interventions. The field integrates epidemiological, clinical, statistical and data-driven approaches to detect emerging threats, assess disease risks, guide prevention strategies, and strengthen public health preparedness and response.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Surveillance and Prevention. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Infectious Disease Surveillance and Monitoring
  • Outbreak Investigation and Epidemic Response
  • Epidemiological Modeling and Disease Forecasting
  • Mathematical and Computational Transmission Modeling
  • Genomic and Molecular Pathogen Surveillance
  • Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases
  • Vaccination, Immunization and Disease Prevention
  • Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control
  • Zoonotic Disease Epidemiology
  • HIV/AIDS Epidemiology
  • Infectious Disease Transmission and Risk Factors
  • Hospital- and Healthcare-Associated Infection Epidemiology
  • Climate-Related Infectious Disease Epidemiology
  • Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology
  • Behavioral Epidemiology and Risk-Communication/Intervention Design
  • Global Health and Infectious Disease Epidemiology
  • Public Health Interventions and Health Policy
  • Digital Epidemiology and Data-Driven Disease Surveillance

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Surveillance and Prevention” should be chosen during your submission.
