Waste Management and Circular Economy

Waste Management and Circular Economy encompasses integrated strategies for reducing, recovering, recycling, and sustainably managing waste while promoting the efficient use of resources throughout their life cycles. The field includes waste prevention, collection and treatment technologies, recycling and resource recovery, waste-to-energy systems, sustainable consumption and production, industrial symbiosis, eco-design, and circular business models. It also addresses innovative approaches to transforming waste into valuable resources, minimizing environmental impacts, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and supporting sustainable economic development. By integrating environmental, technological, economic, and social perspectives, this field contributes to the transition from linear production and consumption systems toward regenerative, resource-efficient, and sustainable circular economies.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Waste Management and Circular Economy. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
