GIS and Remote Sensing Technologies

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing Technologies focuses on the collection, management, analysis, and visualization of spatial data through geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and related geospatial technologies. By integrating satellite imagery, aerial photography, unmanned aerial systems, GPS, LiDAR, and spatial analytics, the field supports the monitoring and modeling of natural and built environments. Its applications span environmental management, land use and land cover mapping, urban and regional planning, disaster risk reduction, agriculture, transportation, climate change assessment, natural resource management, and ecosystem conservation, providing essential tools for evidence-based decision-making and sustainable development.
