Special Issue on Archaeological Science

Archaeological Science is an interdisciplinary field that applies scientific methods and advanced technologies to investigate the human past through archaeological materials and sites. It integrates disciplines such as chemistry, biology, geology, physics, and environmental science to analyze artifacts, human and animal remains, ancient landscapes, and cultural heritage. Using techniques including radiocarbon dating, ancient DNA analysis, isotopic studies, remote sensing, and geospatial technologies, archaeological science enhances the understanding of chronology, human evolution, past environments, migration, diet, technology, and cultural interactions. The field plays a vital role in preserving archaeological heritage while providing robust scientific evidence to reconstruct ancient societies and their development.
