Sustainable
Urban Development is an interdisciplinary field dedicated to creating cities
that are environmentally sustainable, socially inclusive, economically
resilient, and capable of meeting the needs of present and future generations.
It encompasses urban planning, sustainable infrastructure, green buildings, smart
cities, transportation systems, housing, resource efficiency, climate
adaptation, urban resilience, waste management, environmental quality, and
community engagement. The field integrates engineering, environmental science,
economics, public policy, and urban planning to promote balanced urban growth,
improve quality of life, reduce environmental impacts, and support sustainable
and resilient urban communities.
In this special issue, we intend to invite
front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review
articles on exploring Sustainable Urban Development. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
