Special Issue on Malaria Research

Malaria Research is an interdisciplinary academic field that investigates the biology, transmission, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control of malaria, a mosquito-borne infectious disease caused by Plasmodium parasites. It encompasses parasitology, immunology, epidemiology, public health and clinical medicine to understand host–parasite interactions, drug resistance, vector biology and vaccine development. The field aims to reduce malaria morbidity and mortality and support global malaria elimination efforts through scientific innovation and evidence-based interventions.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Malaria Research. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Malaria parasite biology and life cycle
• Malaria epidemiology and disease surveillance
• Clinical malaria and disease management
• Artemisinin-based combination therapy
• Malaria and co-infections
• Diagnostic technologies and biomarkers
• Antimalarial drug development and resistance
• Malaria immunology and host responses
• Malaria vaccine research
• Public health interventions and malaria control
• Genomics, bioinformatics and computational malaria research
• Climate, ecological and socio-economic determinants
