Environmental Pollution and Climate Change

Air pollution and climate change are closely related. As well as driving climate change, the main cause of CO₂ emissions – the extraction and burning of fossil fuels – is also a major source of air pollutants.  What’s more, many air pollutants contribute to climate change by affecting the amount of incoming sunlight that is reflected or absorbed by the atmosphere, with some pollutants warming and others cooling the Earth. The issue of environmental pollution and climate change has become an international concern due to their unfavorable affects to the physical and biological entities of the environment. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in this area of Environmental Pollution and Climate Change.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Environmental Pollution and Climate Change. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Aerosols, the atmospheric pollutant with an effect on the climate
• Air quality and climate change
• Major threats of pollution and climate change to global coastal ecosystems
• Occurrence of extreme climate
• Glaciers melting and Sea level rise
• Coronavirus and climate change
• Multiple benefits for climate, air quality, health, and sustainable development

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Environmental Pollution and Climate Change” should be selected during your submission.
