Programming Languages and Software Engineering studies the design, implementation and application of programming languages alongside systematic approaches to developing reliable and efficient software systems. It covers language paradigms, compilers and runtime environments, as well as software design, testing, maintenance and project management. The field aims to improve code quality, scalability and performance while ensuring that software meets user requirements and industry standards.
