Special Issue on Pediatric Infectious Diseases
Pediatric infectious diseases is a medical and
research field focused on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management
of infections in infants, children, and adolescents. It studies viral,
bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections, their epidemiology,
pathophysiology, and impact on child health. The field also emphasizes
immunization, antimicrobial therapies, outbreak control, and the development of
strategies to reduce morbidity and mortality, aiming to improve short- and
long-term health outcomes in pediatric populations.
