Special Issue on Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance
Sports
Medicine and Athletic Performance is a multidisciplinary theme addressing the
scientific, clinical, and technological foundations that optimize athlete
health, functional capacity, and competitive outcomes. It integrates exercise
physiology, biomechanics, sports cardiology, musculoskeletal rehabilitation,
injury prevention, performance analytics, and strength and conditioning science
to advance evidence-based practice. Emphasis is placed on load management, return-to-play
decision-making, recovery optimization, nutritional and psychological
interventions, and the application of wearable technologies and data-driven
monitoring systems. The issue welcomes original research, clinical studies, and
translational investigations that enhance performance while safeguarding
long-term athlete well-being across elite, youth, and adaptive populations.
