Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing is an interdisciplinary field that focuses on the acquisition, analysis, and application of spatial data to understand and manage the Earth’s environment and resources. It combines GIS technologies for mapping, spatial analysis, and data management with remote sensing techniques that capture information from satellite, aerial, or drone-based sensors. By integrating geospatial data, modeling, and visualization, this field supports applications in environmental monitoring, urban planning, natural resource management, disaster assessment, and sustainable development, enabling informed decision-making across multiple scientific and practical domains.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
