Special Issue on Food and Function
Food and
Function explores the relationship between food components and their
physiological effects on human health and well-being. It focuses on how
nutrients, bioactive compounds, and functional ingredients influence metabolic
processes, disease prevention, and overall body function beyond basic
nutritional requirements. The field integrates food science, nutrition,
biochemistry, and human physiology to study functional foods, nutraceuticals,
and dietary interventions aimed at improving health outcomes. By elucidating
the mechanisms linking diet and health, Food and Function supports the
development of evidence-based nutritional solutions for improving public health
and quality of life.
In this special issue, we intend to invite
front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review
articles on exploring Food and Function. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
