Advances in Supercritical CO2
Supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2[disputed – discuss]) is a fluid state of carbon dioxide where it is held at or above its critical temperature and critical pressure. Supercritical CO2 is becoming an important commercial and industrial solvent due to its role in chemical extraction, in addition to its relatively low toxicity and environmental impact. The relatively low temperature of the process and the stability of CO2 also allows compounds to be extracted with little damage or denaturing. In addition, the solubility of many extracted compounds in CO2 varies with pressure, permitting selective extractions.
In the present book, ten typical literatures about Supercritical CO2 published on international authoritative journals were selected to introduce the worldwide newest progress, which contains reviews or original researches on Supercritical CO2. We hope this book can demonstrate advances in Supercritical CO2 as well as give references to the researchers, students and other related people.
